Gábor Roskó is standing at Busaras in his waxed coat with his light eyes and long moustache. It has been years since I’ve seen him but we have been friends for about thirty years. We laugh again in that peculiar way. It is a spring Tuesday and early in the morning when we head off for breakfast.

Red red sky, aeroplanes go over, March is on her way.

K&M Evans is our second stop on the Lúas. One of the art shops in Dublin, Evans has been trading since 1910, we go there to buy papers. An entire room full of every sort of surface for painting on. We settle on an off-white heavyweight paper. Then I have to fold it and tear it to book size and we place it in Gábor’s backpack. This will be our book of drawings. We buy red ink and long brushes.
